Terms of Service

By using Dance Notes (練舞筆記, “the Service”), you agree to these terms. This is an English translation of the Traditional Chinese version; if the two differ, the Chinese version prevails.

1. The Service

The Service lets you upload videos of your dance classes and social dancing, add markers and notes, and organize what you learn into a personal move library. The Service is operated by an individual developer.

2. Plans

  • Free: available right after sign-up. Cloud video storage of 30 minutes (the total length of the videos currently in your account; delete videos to free up space). Each video can be up to 10 minutes long and 2 GB in size
  • Pro: NT$150 per month or NT$1,290 per year (paid plans coming soon). Cloud video storage of 1,500 minutes. Each video can be up to 60 minutes long and 8 GB in size
  • Until paid plans launch, you can upgrade to Pro by entering an invite code on the “Me” page after signing up. Each invite code can be used once and cannot be transferred to another account
  • We may change plan features or limits. If a change is unfavorable to existing Pro users, we will notify them in advance

3. Payments and subscriptions

  • Payments on our website are processed by Paddle.com. Paddle is the Merchant of Record for all our orders and handles payment collection, receipts, applicable taxes and refunds. Your purchase is also subject to Paddle’s Buyer Terms
  • Subscriptions renew automatically and are charged each billing period (monthly or yearly) until you cancel
  • You can cancel at any time. After cancelling, you keep Pro until the end of the current billing period and will not be charged again
  • When a subscription ends or is cancelled, your account becomes read-only: you can still watch, play and add markers, but you cannot upload new videos. Videos over the free plan’s storage limit are not deleted, and you can upload again as soon as you resubscribe
  • Refunds are covered by our Refund Policy
  • We will notify you before any price change, which takes effect from your next billing period

4. Your account

  • Provide accurate information and keep your password or Google account secure
  • Each account is for one person only
  • You are responsible for activity under your account

5. Your content

  • You keep all rights to your videos and notes. You only grant the Service permission to process them as needed to provide its features (storage, transcoding, thumbnails and playback)
  • Only upload videos you have the right to upload. When filming classes or social dancing, follow the studio’s rules and respect the wishes of the people on camera
  • Do not upload illegal, infringing, pornographic or harassing content

6. Prohibited conduct

  • Trying to access other people’s accounts or data
  • Disrupting, attacking or overloading the Service (for example, with large volumes of automated requests)
  • Using the Service as general-purpose file sharing or backup storage

If you violate these terms, we may suspend or terminate your account.

7. Limitations

  • The Service is provided “as is”, without any guarantee that it will be uninterrupted or error-free
  • Please keep your own copies of your original videos. The Service is not a backup service and is not liable for data loss
  • If we shut down the Service, we will give at least 30 days’ notice so you have time to download your data

8. Termination

You can stop using the Service at any time and request deletion of your account as described in our Privacy Policy.

9. Changes to these terms

If we make significant changes, we will update the date on this page and notify you. Continuing to use the Service after a change means you accept the new terms.

10. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of China (Taiwan).
